In professional football, the right move often doesn't happen. Not for lack of talent, but for lack of a way to find each other. A player ready for a step up goes unnoticed because no one's looking in their direction. A club with an open position can't reach the right coach. The network that's supposed to connect them is informal, closed and slow.
Match My Transfer exists to fix that. It's not a brokerage platform and it doesn't act as an agent. It gives players, coaches and clubs a direct, structured way to find each other, so a match depends on fit rather than on who you happen to know. Players and coaches build a profile and get matched with clubs looking for exactly that profile. Clubs post open positions and see the candidates who fit them.
The challenge
A matching platform looks simple from the outside. It isn't, once you get into the rules.
A good match in football isn't "striker wanted, striker available." It depends on position, profile, season, eligibility, the qualifications a coach holds, and the kind of move a player is actually open to. Turning that into something a club can search, and something that surfaces the right candidates automatically instead of a long list someone has to wade through, was the real problem to solve.
It also had to hold up as the platform grew. More players, more clubs, more open positions, without the matching getting less accurate or slower.
What we built
We built Match My Transfer as a fully custom platform in Laravel and Livewire, with three types of users at its core: players, coaches and clubs, each with their own profiles, dashboards and flows.
At the center of it is the matching engine. Players and coaches are connected automatically with clubs looking for their profile. Clubs open a position and see the candidates who actually fit it, ranked, rather than an unsorted list. The engine reasons about position, profile and eligibility, and keeps a history of matches and transfers as players move between clubs across a season. It's built modularly, so new matching criteria and new types of opportunity can be added without rebuilding what's already there.
Around the matching sit the pieces a working football platform needs:
Parent accounts: a parent can manage the profile of a younger player.
Credit-based access: clubs top up credits at a fixed rate, one credit keeps a search live for a month, and unused credits stay valid. Access stays a deliberate choice rather than an open-ended subscription.
Payments and invoicing: payments run through Mollie, and invoices are generated automatically and downloadable directly from the platform. No manual admin in a spreadsheet.
Admin tools: user management, eligibility review, pricing control, audit logging and user impersonation for support.
The result
Match My Transfer is a live platform where players, coaches and clubs find each other through matching that does the work for them, with credits, payments and invoicing in the same flow.
The informal network that used to decide who got noticed is now a structured platform: one that gives talent a way to be found, clubs a way to find it, and room to keep growing.
