SaaS

Software you access through a browser instead of installing on your own computer.

SaaS is short for Software as a Service. With SaaS, the provider hosts everything. They handle the servers, the updates, the security patches. You just log in and use it, usually for a monthly or yearly fee instead of buying a license outright. This setup is why almost every modern business tool, from accounting software to CRMs, works this way now. It's easier for the provider to improve the product over time since everyone is using the same version, and it's easier for the customer because there's nothing to install or maintain.
